Ukraine Deploys New Transit Centers for Evacuated Due to Increased Shelling

Due to the increase in Russian shelling in Ukraine, the government has decided to deploy additional transit centers for the evacuated to relieve the pressure on the Pavlograd point. This information was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Kuleba during his visit to Pavlohrad.

Also, to help unload the Pavlograd center, a transit point has already been opened in Lozova (Kharkiv region). This week, another new center will begin operations in the village of Voloske in Dnipropetrovsk region. In addition, places for two thousand people are already prepared in Kyiv and Rivne regions. Overall, by the end of August, it is planned to prepare at least 30 thousand places for long-term accommodation, including places for persons with limited mobility.



In connection with the increase in shelling, the load on the Pavlograd center has significantly increased. Up to 400 people from various regions arrive here every day. They receive help and consultations on various issues, such as housing, medical assistance, and documentation.


At the time of the visit, 110 people were in the center, and another 160 evacuees arrived during the working delegation. Some of them immediately headed to Lviv, Kirovohrad, and Kyiv regions. The railway company added additional carriages for transporting evacuees, and only in August, more than 500 people were transported. The Ministry of Development will continue to work on improving the living conditions for evacuees.



'The evacuation process is ongoing every day. We are preparing for winter, creating new places for accommodation, cooperating with communities and volunteers. I sincerely thank everyone who helps people during this difficult time,' Deputy Prime Minister Kuleba summarized.


The operation of the transit centers is provided by regional and local authorities, as well as voluntary groups and humanitarian organizations.
