The State Service of Special Communication and Information Protection of Ukraine has published a list of banned software and communication equipment of Russian origin. The new list, which contains 27 items, includes programs that, according to the Ukrainian government, pose a threat to national security.

These solutions have been recognized as dangerous due to the possibility of their use for cyber espionage.
This step is not new for Ukraine, as sanctions against Russian IT companies were already imposed in 2017. Then Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksandr Turchynov explained the necessity of banning programs such as '1C', 'Yandex', 'Softline Group', and 'Corporation Parus' due to their use for cyber espionage.
Thus, the new sanctions continue the policy of protecting Ukraine's information space from potential threats. — Oleksandr Turchynov
This list of banned software reflects Ukraine's ongoing course towards strengthening its cybersecurity and protecting national interests. In the context of military conflict and threats from Russia, the Ukrainian government is trying to reduce risks associated with the use of technologies that could be employed for cyber espionage or other malicious actions. This indicates an intensification of efforts in the field of information security in the country and the defense of independence in the technological sector.
