Ukrainians in Occupied Areas Can Now Quit Their Jobs Remotely via Diia

Українці, що проживають на окупованих територіях, отримали можливість звільнятися з роботи дистанційно за допомогою системи Дія.

New Diia Feature for Ukrainians

Ukrainians facing severe hardships due to the full-scale invasion can now legally terminate their employment from a distance. A newly launched service in the Diia app enables citizens employed in temporarily occupied territories or active combat zones to resign officially. This significant update follows the completion of the service's technical architecture and the opening of beta testing applications.

Previously, many Ukrainians were unable to formally end their employment because they could not submit a resignation letter or retrieve their work record book. This blocked them from finding new jobs, registering with the State Employment Service, or receiving unemployment benefits. The new digital tool in Diia automates and legitimizes the resignation process, eliminating the need to locate a manager or go to court.

Users can now create and sign a unilateral resignation statement using Diia.Signature. The system automatically forwards the data to government agencies and employment centers, recording the contract termination date and updating the Pension Fund of Ukraine's insured persons registry.

Protection Against Fraud

Additionally, the Diia team reported identifying a phishing site disguised as the official app. Scammers used a domain resembling Diia's official website and tricked users into downloading a fake application via their browser. This fraudulent resource has already been blocked.

As the service team noted, 'the site asks citizens to download a fake Diia app through a browser to gain access to personal data.'

Thus, the new Diia service not only simplifies the resignation process for Ukrainians but also strengthens digital fraud protection.

This new feature could greatly ease the lives of many Ukrainians affected by the war. It provides a way to officially end employment without extra hurdles, potentially speeding up their return to active work. Equally important is the fight against online fraud, as safeguarding personal data remains a top priority in today's environment. The new technologies being integrated into Diia promise greater security and convenience for users.

In addition to the new resignation feature, the Diia app continues to enhance its offerings for Ukrainians. Recently, a digital taxpayer card with a QR code was introduced, streamlining tax processes and improving accessibility for citizens. This development is part of a broader effort to digitize essential services, ensuring that residents can manage their obligations and rights more efficiently.
