Case of Kateryna Endeberiya
19-year-old Ukrainian Kateryna Endeberiya decided to leave college in Great Britain due to pressure from teachers to study the Russian language. Kateryna moved to Great Britain after the full-scale invasion in 2022 and studied at City of Stoke-on-Trent Sixth Form College (SFC), where she focused on economics, politics, and statistics.
During her studies, Kateryna faced challenges, as research indicated that 24% of teachers did not speak Ukrainian during lessons and 40% during breaks. This created additional difficulties in her learning process.

After leaving college, Kateryna plans to take A-level exams as a private candidate in 2026. Registering for these exams will cost her 1,400 pounds. She hopes for successful exam results despite the challenges she faced during her studies in Great Britain.
Problems of Ukrainian students
The case of Kateryna Endeberiya reflects broader issues faced by Ukrainian students who are forced to adapt to new educational systems abroad. Misunderstandings between teachers and students, as well as language barriers, can significantly complicate the learning process, especially in the context of emigration.
This situation highlights the need for better support for foreign students to help them integrate into new environments and achieve their academic goals.
