Holding the Line at Pokrovsk

For 173 days, soldiers from the 24th Regiment named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachny — known by their call signs Sarmat, Dok, and Kit — held their defensive positions on the Pokrovsk axis. They operated under near-total encirclement, repelling daily enemy assaults despite severe shortages of water and food.

Once their mission ended, the troops successfully withdrew from the positions and underwent rehabilitation. In recognition of their courage and valor, they received awards from the President of Ukraine. Their story is featured in the 'Heroes' project, which highlights the extraordinary feats of Ukrainian service members during the war.
