Today, October 17, emergency power outages are expected to be implemented in the evening. This was reported by 'Glavkom' citing 'Ukrenergo' head Vitaliy Zaychenko, who spoke in a telethon.

«Emergency outage schedules are partially applied to household consumers. These restrictions will be in effect during the evening peak load period and possibly for the next hour in the eastern part of Ukraine», – he said.

Zaychenko emphasized that Russian forces have switched to the 'scorched earth' tactic during attacks on energy infrastructure, destroying entire energy regions. Thermal power plants have been particularly affected by the attacks.

Previously, the occupiers attacked energy facilities in Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Sumy, and Donetsk regions. Restoration works are ongoing.

Due to the difficult situation in the energy system caused by massive shelling and damage to energy infrastructure, power restrictions are applied to industrial consumers in all regions of Ukraine from 07:00 to 22:00.

Attacks on energy facilities by occupiers

On the night of October 16, occupiers again attacked energy facilities using drones in various regions, leading to power outages for consumers in several areas.

It should be noted that 'Ukrenergo' head Vitaliy Zaychenko is convinced that emergency electricity outages in Ukraine may last even for a week.

According to Vitaliy Zaychenko, emergency outages may be implemented in the evening due to emergency situations at energy facilities in Ukraine. The occupiers continue attacks on the country's energy infrastructure, leading to serious disruptions in electricity supply. It is noted that the situation in the eastern regions is the most tense due to damage to facilities and shelling. This state of affairs may affect electricity outage schedules and capacity limitations.
