Long-Range Artillery Ammunition Acquisition
Ukraine's Defense Procurement Agency (DPA, also known as AOZ DOT) has secured the largest-ever batch of 155mm long-range artillery projectiles. This milestone was achieved by saving 16% off the contract's initial value, which freed up funds to purchase tens of thousands of additional rounds. Six manufacturers won the tender and have signed agreements to supply Ukraine's Defense Forces.
155mm long-range artillery shells are among the most critical needs on the front lines. The DPA aims to equip the armed forces with essential hardware while making procurement more efficient. The next phase will involve scaling competitive procurement for FPV, mid-strike, and deep-strike drones. Some of these processes will be conducted through the Prozorro electronic system, which enhances oversight and accountability in defense spending. Notably, this system also reduces reliance on any single supplier, allowing large contracts to be divided among multiple manufacturers.
“Our vision for procurement is competitive procedures: many participants, clear rules, the best terms for the state, and on-time contract fulfillment,” stated the DPA.
