Ukrzaliznytsia temporarily restricted train traffic towards Kramatorsk and Sloviansk. Long-distance trains now only run to the borders of Kharkiv region due to the threatening security situation in the area. Passengers are warned about changes to the final station on the day of departure via the company's application. This is reported by RBK-Ukraine.
How communication with Donetsk will work now
The decision was announced by the head of Donetsk OVA Vadym Filashkin and Ukrzaliznytsia. According to the official, bus shuttles have been organized for passengers from the temporary final station to Sloviansk and Kramatorsk. This will allow people to continue their route despite the temporary suspension of train traffic.
Filashkin emphasized:
«The safety of people is the most important priority. Together with the Defense Forces, law enforcement, and Ukrzaliznytsia, we are monitoring the situation — we will restore traffic as soon as it becomes possible».
Suburban routes are also restricted, including the connection between Bandyshove and Kramatorsk and Sloviansk - Raihorodok. Ukrzaliznytsia states that station staff and conductors accompany passengers during transfers, helping them to orient themselves and reach their destination.
