Ukrainian Railways Unveils Summer Train Schedule
Starting June 28, a new regional train (No. 838/837) will operate on the Odesa–Karolino-Buhaz route, running on even-numbered days throughout the summer season. The journey takes approximately one hour, departing Odesa at 09:17 and arriving at Karolino-Buhaz at 10:18. The return trip leaves Karolino-Buhaz at 10:40 and reaches Odesa at 11:46. A modernized electric train equipped with air conditioning will serve this route, offering a comfortable option for beachgoers.
New High-Speed Trains Launched
From June 28, a daily Intercity train (No. 753/754) will link Dnipro and Odesa. Another daily Intercity service (No. 765/766) connecting Kyiv and Odesa begins on June 27. To enhance connectivity, Ukrainian Railways has increased the frequency of high-speed trains No. 763/764 (Kyiv–Odesa) and No. 748/747 (Kyiv–Ternopil) to six times per week.
A spokesperson for the operator noted that 'the travel time of about one hour makes this a convenient option for quick trips to the coast without traffic jams.' They also highlighted that 'the cool interior, short travel time, and convenient schedule make this train one of the most comfortable summer choices for travel between Odesa and the seaside.'
The new train schedules are coordinated with the arrival of long-distance morning trains in Odesa from:
- Kyiv
- Lviv
- Dnipro
- Kryvyi Rih
- Rakhiv
- Chernivtsi
These changes aim to ensure comfortable travel for passengers during the summer period.
The introduction of the new Odesa–Karolino-Buhaz regional train and the increased frequency of high-speed services reflect Ukrainian Railways' efforts to improve transport infrastructure and passenger services for the summer season. This could boost tourist flows to the coast, benefiting the local economy. The convenient schedules and comfortable conditions are expected to meet travelers' needs and support the development of rail connections in Ukraine.
In addition to the new connections to the coast, Ukrainian Railways has also announced additional weekend trains to the Carpathians. These services aim to accommodate the growing demand for travel to popular tourist destinations, enhancing accessibility for both local and international visitors. Such initiatives highlight the railway's commitment to improving travel options during the bustling summer season.
