Uzhhorod Regatta 2026
On July 26, 2026, the whimsical Uzhhorod Regatta will once again take place on the Uzh River, marking its return after a five-year break. This event, first launched in Uzhhorod back in 2010, was put on hold in recent years due to the coronavirus pandemic and the full-scale war. The last edition was held in 2021, and since then, eager participants have been waiting for another chance to join this unconventional spectacle.

All funds raised during the regatta will be donated to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Known for attracting participants with imaginative boat designs, this event has its own quirky rules: teams are allowed to push their craft or walk alongside it, with the main challenge being to avoid capsizing before reaching the finish line. The Uzhhorod Regatta promises to be a standout highlight of the city’s summer calendar.
The return of the Uzhhorod Regatta after such a long pause signals a revival of cultural life in Ukraine, despite the ongoing hardships facing the nation. More than just a fun and creative outlet, this gathering serves a vital humanitarian purpose, with proceeds going directly to the Ukrainian military. It underscores how the community comes together to support one another in difficult times.
As the Uzhhorod Regatta brings a splash of joy back to the summer calendar, it's also a reminder of the rich cultural heritage that continues to thrive in Ukraine. In a similar spirit of celebrating history and community, Ukrainian Railways is set to operate historic steam locomotives for Constitution Day, showcasing the nation's resilience and love for its traditions even in challenging times.
