The cost of a traditional Christmas table in Ukraine in 2025 will be 1374 UAH, which is just a few hryvnias more than in 2024, when its cost was 1365 UAH. This year's changes in prices for traditional dishes and ingredients have been quite significant, with some products decreasing in price by more than half.

Price Contrast: What Has Increased the Most

Among the main products, the prices for the following have noticeably increased:

  • sunflower oil, which has increased by 26.7%;
  • frozen cherries, which now cost 25.7% more than before;
  • barrel cucumbers, which have increased by 25.2%.

The most expensive dish on the Christmas table remains fried fish, which costs 346.02 UAH. The price of 2 kg of live carp is 339 UAH.

Other main dishes have the following prices:

  • kutya (950 g) - 213.37 UAH;
  • set of dried fruits for uzvar (600 g) - 118.00 UAH;
  • lean borscht with beans (for 2 L of water) - 107.79 UAH;
  • salad 'Vinaigrette' (1.73 kg) - 49.77 UAH;
  • stewed cabbage - 70.78 UAH;
  • dumplings with cherries - 87.83 UAH;
  • dumplings with potatoes - 32.83 UAH;
  • dumplings with cabbage - 32.03 UAH.

Against the backdrop of price increases for some products, prices for potatoes, carrots, cabbage, beets, and onions have decreased by more than half, which can positively affect the overall cost of the Christmas table. At the same time, cucumbers (500 g) cost 66.72 UAH, tomatoes (500 g) - 71.90 UAH, sauerkraut (500 g) - 96.75 UAH, and pickled barrel cucumbers (400 g) - 53.70 UAH.

Thus, the Christmas table in 2025 reflects both the increase in prices for certain products and the decrease in the cost of others, creating a variety in the selection of dishes and components for the festive dinner.

Changes in the cost of products on the Christmas table in Ukraine indicate a complex economic situation that affects consumers. Despite the overall increase in prices for some ingredients, the decrease in prices for vegetables may be a positive factor for families planning a festive dinner. Price analysis also demonstrates trends in consumption and possible adjustments in the menu of the traditional Christmas table.
