The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court on the assets of the former head of the TCC
The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court ruled that the assets exceeding 3.8 million UAH, acquired by the former head of the Zaporizhia Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support together with his wife, were unjustified. The court ordered that the property purchased with cash, including a house with a plot of land and the value of one of the cars, be confiscated for state revenue.
The National Agency for Prevention of Corruption monitored the lifestyle of the official, as a result of which an indictment against the former head of the TCC was sent to court. The accused is charged with abuse of official position that took place from February to July 2023.
Court ruling and further actions
The court ruling concerns the property registered in the name of the official's wife, including a house with a plot of land and two cars. The court's decision can be appealed within 30 days from the date of compilation of its full text. Thus, the issue of the legality of the acquisition of assets by the former head of the TCC remains open, and further actions will depend on the decisions of the appellate instances.
This case is part of a broader campaign by the Ukrainian authorities to combat corruption, which intensified after the onset of military actions in the country. Strengthened control over the activities of state officials and their property assets aims to reduce corruption risks and ensure transparency in the use of state resources.
An active role of anti-corruption bodies that conduct monitoring and investigations in cases of possible abuses is also an important component of this process.
