The crash of the Russian Su-30 fighter in the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea was reported by the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to radio interception, the aircraft lost control due to engine fires and fell.

According to the report from the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reconnaissance means recorded radio interception that indicates the aircraft's crash: 'The engines caught fire, the aircraft fell.'

The air defense may be the reason for the fighter's downing, or it is possible that the aircraft was shot down by its own forces while repelling an attack from drone aircraft. Preliminary reports from local authorities in Sochi indicated the air defense system's functionality, which successfully repelled the attack, urging residents to stay off the streets for their own safety.

This event serves as a grave reminder of the tense situation in the region and the constant risk of military conflicts.
