For the first time since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Russian Federation used guided air bombs to strike Mykolaiv. This was reported by 'Glavkom' referencing the head of the Mykolaiv OVA Vitaliy Kim during a telethon.

According to the official, the attack occurred yesterday, October 16. Kim noted that the Russians fired two guided air bombs at Mykolaiv. 'This is the first time they have actually reached Mykolaiv. The type is being established. But this is the first time since the beginning of the war that the outskirts of the city were attacked by guided bombs,' he added.

Diplomatic path to end the war

Earlier, Vitaliy Kim stated in an interview with 'Glavkom' that the war between Ukraine and Russia would end through diplomatic means within a range of two months to a year. The official stressed that any war inevitably ends with the signing of a document - be it peace or capitulation.

It should be noted that the Russian Federation is increasingly using new guided air bombs with increased range. Recently, strikes with them were recorded in Kharkiv and Sumy regions. The occupiers also used drones to attack Kherson, resulting in a fire and damaging fire trucks during the elimination of the consequences of the shelling.

Guided air bombs were first used by Russia during the invasion of Mykolaiv region. This indicates an escalation of the conflict and an increased threat to the civilian population. It is known that the shelling leads to casualties and mass destruction of property, which jeopardizes safety in the region. At the moment, the diplomatic path remains the only possible option to resolve the conflict.
