From January 1, 2026: what utility tariffs will change in Kyiv

З 1 січня 2026 року в Києві відбудуться зміни у тарифах на комунальні послуги.

Changes in utility tariffs in Kyiv from 2026

From January 1, 2026, there will be changes in the payment system for transportation in Kyiv, while most utility tariffs will remain stable. In particular, the electricity tariff for residents will be 4.32 UAH per kWh, and for owners of two-zone meters, the nighttime tariff will be 2.16 UAH per kWh. The price of gas for household consumers will remain at the level of 7.96 UAH per cubic meter until the end of April 2026.

Water and heating tariffs

As for water supply, the tariff for cold water and wastewater will be 30.384 UAH per cubic meter, of which 16.164 UAH is for water and 14.220 UAH is for sewage. The price of hot water is fixed at 97.89 UAH per cubic meter, and heating will cost 1654.41 UAH per Gcal. The average cost of maintaining buildings will be 12-14 UAH per square meter.

In the transport sector, the cost of travel in public transport will be 8 UAH for one trip, and on a transport card — 6.50 UAH for 50 trips. The cost of the transport card itself will be 96 UAH, and a student card will be 120 UAH. Travel on the city electric train will cost 14.99 UAH for one trip.

As of early November 2025, there were 794,604 active cases regarding utility service debts in Ukraine, of which 60% of cases — over 476,000 — were completed without actual collection. Thus, despite changes in transport tariffs, the main utility services will remain stable for the residents of the capital.

These changes in tariffs may be part of the city government's strategy aimed at ensuring stability for Kyiv residents amid economic challenges.

Keeping tariffs for basic utility services may help avoid additional financial burdens on the population, especially amid rising prices for other services. At the same time, the increase in transport fares may reflect the rising costs of maintaining and developing transport infrastructure. Therefore, it is worth monitoring further changes in this area and their impact on the daily life of Kyiv residents.
