The European Union is preparing to take new restrictive measures against Russia due to an increase in provocations and diversions, which, according to Financial Times, are organized by Russian intelligence agents under diplomatic cover. Among the measures is a mandatory warning to the governments of EU countries about the crossing of borders by Russian diplomats. Czechia has initiated the restoration of the principle of reciprocity in this matter.
According to Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky, 'there is no Schengen for Russia'. Czechia had previously imposed restrictions on Russian diplomats, but many of them continue to cross the border into neighboring countries. Hungary now supports the introduction of new sanctions, but their final approval may be delayed due to discussions regarding asset restrictions related to Oleg Deripaska. Negotiations are ongoing.
The EU's plans to introduce new sanctions against Russia have arisen due to provocations and diversions organized by Russian intelligence agents in Europe. This may lead to restrictions on the movement of Russian diplomats and additional control measures.
