Putin proposed an exchange of Ukrainian territories: Donetsk for Zaporizhia and Kherson

Пропозиція Путіна щодо обміну українськими регіонами: Донеччина на Запоріжжя та Херсон.

Vladimir Putin, during negotiations with US President Donald Trump, proposed that Ukraine exchange territories. In particular, to give up the Donetsk region in favor of Moscow for the Zaporizhia and Kherson regions.

According to The Washington Post, Putin is suggesting this 'smaller' exchange of territories than before. Some sources in the White House view this as a potential compromise opportunity.

According to the publication, on October 17, a US representative pressed Ukraine regarding the transfer of Donetsk, calling upon its Russian-speaking population. However, no official confirmations have been received as of yet. Experts warn that such territorial exchanges may violate international standards and the sovereignty of the state.

The issue of territory exchange between Ukraine and Russia remains open, particularly due to the lack of official comments on this matter. Efforts to find a diplomatic solution to the conflict are demonstrated in similar proposals, but their implementation may be complicated due to violations of international law.
