During a joint press conference in Kyiv, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte discussed security guarantees for Ukraine. Rutte confirmed NATO's support for Ukraine, stating that the main goal is to protect the sovereignty and independence of the country.

“It is important that Ukraine, Europe, and the USA work together. We are talking about security guarantees that will include two layers: strengthening the Armed Forces of Ukraine and support from the USA and Europe. Work on this is already underway,” emphasized the NATO Secretary General.

Zelensky noted that future guarantees should resemble Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty, as only such mechanisms will provide effective protection. The President explained that this covers all areas of defense - on land, in the air, and at sea.

As a result of the negotiations, it became known about the willingness of the USA to join in ensuring security guarantees for Ukraine. Zelensky emphasized that the participation of country leaders is necessary to end the conflict, but Russia avoids direct negotiations. It is also known that sanctions remain the main tool of pressure on Moscow, hoping that it will force them to engage in diplomatic negotiations.
