People's deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak announced that President Volodymyr Zelensky during a meeting with the Servant of the People faction informed about future personnel changes in the government, among which is allegedly the absence of Mykhailo Fedorov in the new composition of the Cabinet of Ministers. According to the deputy, the final decisions still have to be made by the parliament.
Personnel changes in the government: what Zheleznyak said
According to the deputy, during the meeting, the president announced to the deputies the future structure of the government. Zheleznyak asserts that the position of Minister of Defense may be taken by Ihor Klymenko, and the current head of the National Police Ivan Vihivskyi may head the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The deputy also stated that Mykhailo Fedorov is not included in the proposed composition of the government. According to him, during the meeting, only a few deputies asked questions regarding the reasons for such a decision.
Zheleznyak emphasized that, according to his information, most members of the faction did not oppose the proposed personnel decisions.
Reasons for Fedorov's dismissal: Zheleznyak's version and media data
Citing his own sources, the deputy stated that the president explained the personnel changes by a conflict between Mykhailo Fedorov and the military leadership, as well as the need to address issues related to mobilization.
In addition, Zheleznyak quoted material from Ukrainska Pravda, which discusses a long-standing conflict between Fedorov's team and the General Staff due to different approaches to digitalizing the army, defense procurement, and military management. At the same time, these statements are information provided by the publication's interlocutors and have not been officially confirmed.
According to the deputy, the Verkhovna Rada is set to start reviewing personnel appointments with a vote on the prime minister's candidacy, after which the parliament will consider the new composition of the government. He also expressed the assumption that the appointments of certain candidates may provoke discussions during voting.
At the time of publication, no official decisions of the Verkhovna Rada regarding the new composition of the Cabinet of Ministers had yet been made.
Earlier, Zheleznyak announced a crackdown on corrupt officials due to EU demands and 90 billion euros.
