Overnight Strikes Target Four Bridges Linking Crimea and Kherson Region

Нічні удари вразили чотири мости, що з'єднують Крим та Херсонську область.

Bridges Connecting Crimea and Kherson Under Attack

During the night of June 11, four bridges between Crimea and the Kherson region were struck, according to Vladimir Saldo, the occupation-appointed governor of Kherson. The targeted crossings include:

  • routes over the North Crimean Canal near Preobrazhenka and Myrne,
  • a road bridge on the Perekop-Armiansk route,
  • and a bridge in the vicinity of the Stavky settlement.

Preliminary reports indicate these structures sustained damage, with explosions also heard in occupied Crimea.

Military Operations and Their Impact

Russian military and air defense forces claimed to have destroyed 45 attack drones. Additionally, overnight on June 11, assaults were recorded in several bays of Sevastopol and on a military base. Notably, the first strike on the Chongar Bridge occurred on June 7, with a follow-up attack on June 9 completely disabling it. Units from the Center for Multidomain Operations Phalanx and the 475th Separate Assault Regiment Code 9.2 carried out the Chongar Bridge strike.

In response, the occupation administration halted gasoline sales to civilians, and rail operations shifted to daytime schedules due to the threat of nocturnal attacks. Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council, confirmed the total destruction of the Chongar Bridge. These events underscore the heightened tensions in the area and are disrupting transport links between Crimea and the Kherson region.

The suspension of gasoline sales and modified railway schedules show that the occupation administration is taking steps to mitigate risks from possible future strikes. These developments could significantly alter the conflict's dynamics, affecting resource availability and troop mobility in the combat zone.

As the situation escalates, the destruction of all land access points to Crimea has further intensified the conflict. This recent series of attacks highlights the critical state of infrastructure in the region, affecting both military operations and civilian logistics.
