Japan provided Ukraine with equipment for railway infrastructure restoration

PrAT 'Kyiv-Dnipro Inter-Industry Enterprise of Industrial Railway Transport' received necessary equipment from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).Marina Denysiuk, Deputy Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine, emphasized the importance of Japan's support in the implementation of emergency restoration and reconstruction projects. She noted that since 2023, Ukraine has received more than 700 million dollars in aid from Japan, which is critically important for the restoration of infrastructure.'Transport infrastructure, in particular railways, remains one of the priority sectors for restoration. That is why such support from Japan is timely and extremely necessary,' the Deputy Minister noted.The enterprise received modern equipment for the repair and modernization of railway infrastructure, such as hydraulic jacks, tamping machines, generators, rail aligners, and crane beams. This will increase the efficiency of restoration work on the tracks and ensure uninterrupted operation on nearly 1000 km of internal railway infrastructure.'The support that Ukraine receives from Japan is systematic and large-scale. Since 2022, dozens of projects have been implemented in key areas: energy, transport, water supply, development of municipal infrastructure, healthcare, agribusiness, education, and humanitarian demining,' the ministry emphasized.According to the report, the Ukrainian enterprise received important equipment for the repair and modernization of railway infrastructure from Japan, which is extremely important for improving and ensuring the uninterrupted operation of the internal railway network. This will open up new opportunities for development and provide higher quality transportation in the country.
