Apple's Siri AI Upgrade

According to Главком: On June 8, 2026, Apple introduced a major update to its voice assistant, now called Siri AI. The development effort spanned the last two years. The revamped assistant features a redesigned interface and a new conversational voice, along with the ability to analyze everything displayed on a device's screen in real time. Siri retains a history of previous queries and can revisit topics from past conversations. Additionally, Siri AI can locate a friend's address or phone number within old messages-an especially useful feature when users have forgotten to officially save such details in their contacts.

The assistant can independently access the internet to verify and expand information. The update will roll out in phases, starting with English-language support. Notably, Siri AI will initially be unavailable to users in European Union countries and China. Furthermore, Apple collaborated with experts from the American Academy of Pediatrics to develop safety algorithms, including new parental control tools. By default, parental controls will block all apps except those explicitly approved by parents. Children will need to send a request to a parent's device for permission to visit any new website. The system will also automatically hide and blur any images containing violence or nudity in messaging apps and notifications.

Plans and the Future of Siri AI

The initial release of Siri AI was originally planned for 2024. It's worth noting that Siri first launched in 2011. The iOS 26.5.1 update, released three weeks after the global rollout of iOS 26.5, was designed for the iPhone 17 and iPhone Air series. These models had been losing the ability to charge via cable after their batteries were fully depleted. The upcoming iOS 27 operating system will support smartphones starting from the iPhone 11 series, while the next version of the Mac computer system has been named Golden Gate.

Craig Federighi stated: 'Truly useful artificial intelligence should be centered around you and your needs.'

The Siri AI update reflects Apple's push to strengthen its position in the voice assistant market, where competition with other tech giants like Google and Amazon is intensifying. With new features such as query memory and integrated parental controls, Apple is targeting a broader audience, including families with children. The lack of availability in certain regions may affect perceptions of the update, but the phased rollout strategy could allow the company to gather more feedback and refine the product before a global launch.

As Apple continues to innovate with its AI capabilities, the introduction of Siri AI raises intriguing questions about the future of voice assistants.
