On Friday, emergency electricity outages were implemented in most regions and cities of Ukraine.

Restoring generation and supply will take time. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky during a video address, according to Gazeta.ua.

In Kyiv and 14 regions, water supply was interrupted due to power outages, said Zelensky.

'Our energy workers and repair crews started working even during the air raid alert and are doing everything possible to restore generation and supplies. This will take time. But it will happen,' he said.

Zelensky urged Ukrainians to show patience.

'I ask all our people to show patience now and thank each and every one whose work is to restore normal life at any time and under any circumstances,' the president addressed.

He called on regional and local authorities to 'be more active in creating additional energy resilience reserves.'

'Please collaborate more with businesses so that more companies join the map of unbreakable points,' Zelensky said.

He also urged citizens to care for those who find it hardest.

'For the elderly, families with children, and displaced persons from conflict areas or occupied territories. If you can help, please do so,' he addressed.

On December 16, Russian terrorists carried out a massive missile attack on Ukraine. The enemy shelled Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions.

The emergency situation regime was declared in the energy system.

As a result of the shelling, the electricity supply deficit increased in the system, explained Ukrenergo.
