Automatic Mobilization Deferral System Expanded

According to Мін. Оборони: The system for automatically extending mobilization deferrals for specific citizen categories has been significantly expanded. This process verifies eligibility through state registries, eliminating the need for applications, certificates, or queues in 90% of cases. The latest automatic renewal cycle concluded on February 2, during which users of the Reserve+ app received push notifications about their scheduled extension, followed by confirmation of its completion. This automation is part of Ukraine's ongoing effort to streamline military administration during a prolonged national defense.

A failure to receive a notification may indicate insufficient or outdated information in the state databases. Citizens who did not get a notification are advised to submit their documents to any Administrative Service Center (ASC). It is important to note that Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Centers (TRSSCs) no longer accept such applications.

Seven New Groups Eligible for Automatic Extension

Seven new categories of citizens have been added to the automatic deferment renewal mechanism. These include:

  • Parents raising a severely ill child without a disability status;
  • Individuals providing care for a severely ill family member;
  • Guardians of a person declared legally incompetent;
  • Persons whose spouse has a Group III disability;
  • Those caring for a second- or third-degree relative with a disability;
  • Single parents raising a child under 18;
  • School teachers.

Categories previously eligible for automatic renewal included people with disabilities, those temporarily unfit for service, parents of a child with a disability under 18, and others with specific qualifying circumstances.

These changes to the automatic deferral system are designed to significantly ease the burden on citizens facing difficult life situations. By automating the process, the administrative load on state institutions is reduced and service accessibility for the population is improved. Citizens should ensure they are aware of the new categories and verify that their data in state registries is current to avoid any issues with their deferment renewal.
