The government of Ukraine has decided to cancel the 50% discount on food for children in kindergartens for large families, which means that the cost of food for each child will increase by 800 hryvnias. This decision came after the cancellation of the decree from 2002 that had been in effect for over 20 years. Now, parents of kindergarten children will not have the right to a discount on their meals, but the government has introduced other benefits for most of these families, such as a one-time payment for parents of first graders and an increase in payments to women after giving birth.
