Alessandro Bastoni's Move to Barcelona

According to Главком: FC Barcelona has reached an agreement to sign defender Alessandro Bastoni from Inter Milan. The clubs are currently negotiating the final terms of the transfer, with Bastoni prepared to sign a contract with Barcelona until the summer of 2031. To facilitate the move, the Italian international has agreed to reduce his salary demands. This potential signing aligns with Barcelona's ongoing strategy to rebuild their squad with top-tier talent.

Alessandro Bastoni is reportedly the only player for whom he would consider leaving Inter. However, for the transfer to proceed, the defender must formally request a move in a meeting with Inter's management. The Milan club is demanding a fee between 70 and 80 million euros for Bastoni, while Barcelona's offer currently stands at a maximum of 60 million euros, setting the stage for tough negotiations.

Bastoni's Form and Barcelona's Youth Policy

In the current season, Alessandro Bastoni has made 37 appearances across all competitions, scoring 2 goals and providing 6 assists. His contract with Inter runs until the summer of 2028. These talks are taking place against the backdrop of a significant youth movement at Barcelona, where coach Hansi Flick recently fielded the youngest starting lineup in the club's history for a Champions League playoff match, with an average age of 24 years and 347 days for the core squad.

Securing Bastoni would represent a major step for Barcelona in their European ambitions, fitting their policy of integrating young leaders into the team. For Inter, selling such a key player would necessitate a careful search for a replacement to maintain their competitiveness in both domestic and European competitions.

As Barcelona looks to strengthen its lineup, the club is also exploring potential additions in the attacking department. Recent reports indicate that the Catalan side is interested in Benfica's promising forward, Andreas Schjelderup. This move could complement their defensive reinforcement strategy, underscoring the club's commitment to building a competitive squad for future challenges.
