Баскетболіст Джаред Шоу заарештований в Індонезії: йому загрожує смертна кара за наркотики у формі цукерок.

American basketball player Jared Shaw gave his first interview after his arrest in May this year. Shaw was playing in the Indonesian basketball league for the 'Tangerang Hawks', where he was arrested by the police for importing 132 chewing candies that contained cannabis. He stated that he takes cannabis as medicine, as he has Crohn's disease, and after the arrest, he felt helpless and alone.

«I take cannabis as medicine. I have an inflammatory disease - Crohn's disease. It is incurable. Besides cannabis, there are no other medicines that would relieve me from stomach pain», - Shaw said.

The basketball player also admitted to his mistake and expressed his desire to continue his career. At the same time, there are not only such stories happening in the world of sports.

Russian freestyler's appeal to FIS

Russian freestyler Anastasia Tatalina appealed to the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) asking to allow her to participate in the 2026 Olympic Games. She is also a member of the Russian military club CSKA, which has a direct connection to Russia's military activities in Ukraine.

«I represent Russia, and I was proud when the President of Russia Vladimir Vladimirovich (Putin) sent me a telegram after winning the world championship», - Tatalina said.

It is worth noting that the freestyler publicly supported Russia's military actions, liking posts with the slogan «we don't abandon our own».

Jared Shaw explained that he uses cannabis as medicine due to Crohn's disease, while Anastasia Tatalina approached FIS with a request for participation in the Olympic Games, remaining under close scrutiny due to her support for military actions by Russia in Ukraine.
