Україна посилює захист енергетичної інфраструктури перед новими загрозами, оскільки військові дії залишають деякі регіони без електрики.

Power Supply Situation in Ukraine

According to Главком: As of the morning of February 27, a number of consumers in frontline and border regions remain without electricity due to attacks by Russian forces. Power outages are currently affecting the following oblasts:

  • Zaporizhzhia
  • Dnipropetrovsk
  • Donetsk
  • Sumy
  • Kharkiv
  • Chernihiv

In most of these regions, scheduled hourly power cuts are being enforced as a necessity. These attacks are part of a sustained Russian campaign targeting critical civilian infrastructure.

Government Actions

Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko has stated that the Russian Federation will continue to strike Ukrainian energy infrastructure even after the winter season ends. In response, the Cabinet of Ministers, together with regional administration heads and energy company representatives, has begun preparing the energy system for the next heating season. The state will also strengthen its oversight of power disconnections, and Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal has instructed the State Energy Supervision Authority to conduct relevant inspections.

Furthermore, the Cabinet of Ministers is implementing a financial support mechanism for citizens forced to relocate due to emergencies. The program provides for one-time, interest-free loans to help with household setup in a new location. According to the Ministry of Energy, repair crews are dispatched to damaged sites immediately after air raid alarms are lifted, doing everything possible to quickly restore power to homes, hospitals, schools, and businesses.

The power supply situation in Ukraine remains difficult, highlighting the need to prepare for future challenges to energy infrastructure security. The government's efforts to provide financial aid for displaced persons demonstrate an attempt to mitigate the socio-economic consequences of the conflict. The Ukrainian authorities' subsequent actions will be aimed at restoring energy stability and supporting the population amid ongoing threats.
