According to glavcom.ua: Ukraine is seeking an alternative to NATO membership due to the fear of European countries regarding a potential conflict with Russia. Despite a strategic course towards joining the military alliance, Kyiv is considering other options for security guarantees. Proposals for alternative ways to protect against Russia, which have come from the Italian Prime Minister and the American President, require detailed discussions and possible compromises.

"We do not know what the security guarantees will be, because we haven't even discussed the details. We will see. First of all, Europe will provide them (Ukraine, - "Glavkom") with significant security guarantees, and it must do so because it is nearby. But we will be involved from a reserve position, we will help them," said Donald Trump.

The proposed options for ensuring security for Ukraine have their advantages and disadvantages, among which are funding issues and the lack of a ceasefire. It is important to conduct detailed discussions to find an optimal solution.
