Bolt Taxi Service Resumes Around-the-Clock Operations

According to Главком: Starting February 20, the Bolt taxi service is reinstating 24/7 operations in 24 additional Ukrainian cities. This decision follows a government decree and a public appeal from the President. With this expansion, Bolt's night-time services will now be available in a total of 28 cities, significantly improving transport options for passengers who need to travel after dark. This move is part of broader efforts to maintain essential services and public mobility during the ongoing national emergency.

Previously, the company had announced 24/7 service only in Lviv, Uzhhorod, Mukachevo, and Kyiv. The newly added cities to the list are:

  • Bila Tserkva

Bolt has emphasized that in most cities, special permits are still required for movement during the official curfew. The Cabinet of Ministers has also updated the rules for Ukrainian citizens moving on the streets during curfew, allowing people to travel freely at night to reach designated resilience points. Kyiv will be the first city to implement this specific decision. For Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways) passengers arriving at stations in major cities during curfew hours, taxi services are introducing a preferential fare.

Flexible Curfew Regulations

During the state of emergency in the energy sector, flexible curfew rules will be in effect across Ukraine, facilitating easier movement for city residents. These adjustments aim to balance security needs with the practical realities of daily life under challenging conditions.

The restoration of Bolt's 24/7 service in 28 Ukrainian cities is a significant step in ensuring population mobility, especially under the current emergency. Increased availability of taxis at night can positively impact resident safety by providing a secure alternative to traveling alone in the dark. The updated curfew rules and special tariffs for railway passengers further demonstrate the state's adaptation to new challenges and the evolving needs of the population.
