According to Главком: At the Ski Jumping World Championships in Oberstdorf, Germany, Ukraine's Yevhen Marusiak delivered a strong performance on the opening day. After the first two rounds, he sits in 19th place with a total score of 370.7 points. Marusiak's first jump landed at 203.5 meters, and he improved on that in his second attempt, reaching 205 meters.
However, his compatriot Vitalii Kalinichenko was eliminated from the competition, placing 40th after a first-round jump of 139 meters. Despite this early exit, Kalinichenko secured an Olympic quota spot through a reallocation of team event places.
Tournament Leaders and Upcoming Finals
Slovakian jumper Domen Prevc currently leads the tournament with 442.2 points, followed by Japan's Ren Nikaido in second and Norway's Marius Lindvik in third. The final jumps are scheduled for January 24, 2026. The World Championships serve as a key qualifying event for the 2026 Winter Olympics, where a new 'Super team' event will debut. Ukrainian jumpers have already secured two Olympic quota places for those Games. Marusiak earned his individual quota by ranking 52nd in the overall World Cup standings with 167 points.
