Is an electronic pension certificate in Diia necessary?

In Ukraine, retirees can use an electronic pension certificate alongside the paper one. The digital document has the same legal force, confirms the fact of pension appointment, and is displayed in the Diia app. At the same time, the issuance of the e-certificate does not cancel the validity of the paper document. This is reported by Socportal.

The Pension Fund of Ukraine emphasizes that the paper certificate remains valid and can be used alongside the electronic one. Thus, the transition to a digital format is voluntary and depends on the convenience for a particular person.

Electronic pension certificate in Diia: what does it mean

The e-pension certificate is a digital document that certifies a retiree's status and does not require the presentation of a paper original. It is always available on a smartphone, reducing the risk of loss or damage of the paper certificate.

Issuance of an e-pension certificate: what you need to know

To apply, it is necessary to:

• have the Diia app installed;

• go through electronic identification;

• ensure that the registry of insured persons contains data on the pension appointment;

• prepare scanned copies of the passport, TIN, color photo 3×2.5 cm (not older than 6 months) and a sample signature in black color in jpg format.

You can submit an application online through the e-services portal of the Pension Fund or at the service center. After processing the application, the certificate automatically appears in Diia. Age documents are pulled automatically, while the disability certificate or the one related to the loss of the breadwinner must be added manually.
