According to Главком: Fuel prices in Ukraine were updated on April 4, 2026. The average cost of A-95 gasoline is now 72.87 UAH per liter, while the average price for diesel fuel is 88.01 UAH per liter. In one major retail network, the price of A-95 gasoline increased by about 1 hryvnia, with A-95+ also rising by 1 UAH. At some stations, A-92 gasoline became approximately 1 UAH per liter more expensive. Prices for autogas (LPG) remained unchanged across most networks.
Market Analysis and Factors Driving Price Changes
The most expensive diesel is offered by the Okko, WOG, and Socar networks, while the cheapest fuel can be found at Ukrnafta and BRSM-Nafta stations. It is noted that diesel prices in Ukraine have risen by 33.9%. In March, the volume of diesel fuel supplied remained at 2025 levels, indicating no shortage exists.
'There is no diesel fuel shortage, nor is one anticipated.' Serhiy Kuyun
The primary factors influencing the price changes are:
- an increase in demand volume,
- a reduction in supply volume and reserves,
- an increase in the actual cost of purchasing petroleum products.
Pavlo Kyrylenko emphasized that 'the main objective factor that influenced the price increase is that since last year-specifically after the shutdown of the largest and essentially the only oil refinery in Ukraine-almost all light petroleum products, a percentage equivalent of 85%+, depend on the import of oil products.'
A 'National Fuel Cashback' program is in effect in Ukraine from March 20 to May 1, which provides a 15% refund on diesel, 10% on gasoline, and 5% on autogas. The maximum cashback amount is up to 1,000 UAH per person per month. Oleksiy Sobolev noted that the Cabinet of Ministers launched the fuel cashback because it does not affect support for the army and provides assistance to those most in need of financial help due to rising fuel prices. This program offers some relief to consumers amidst broader economic pressures.
Therefore, changes in fuel prices in Ukraine result from a combination of factors, including shifts in supply and demand and the impact of importing oil products. The introduction of the cashback program provides additional support for vehicle owners in the face of rising costs. Consequently, consumers can obtain a certain financial benefit, which is an important step in supporting the population during economic challenges.
