Ukraine's Fuel Prices for April 2026: Diesel Hits 85.76 UAH, Gasoline at 72.43 UAH
Ukraine's Fuel Market Overview (April 2026)
According to Главком: As of April 1, 2026, fuel prices in Ukraine have been updated. The average cost of A-95 gasoline is now 72.43 UAH per liter, while the average price for diesel fuel has reached 85.76 UAH per liter. These changes follow the launch of the 'National Cashback' program on March 20, which offers consumers a rebate of 15% on diesel, 10% on gasoline, and 5% on autogas. The maximum cashback amount is 1,000 UAH per person per month, and the program will run until May 1.
It is important to note that diesel prices in Ukraine have surged by 33.9%. According to Pavlo Kyrylenko, head of Ukraine's Antimonopoly Committee, the primary objective factor driving the price increase is the shutdown of the country's largest oil refinery. This has resulted in Ukraine's dependence on imports of light oil products exceeding 85%.
"There is no diesel fuel shortage, nor is one anticipated," - Serhiy Kuyun
However, expert Serhiy Kuyun assures that supply volumes in March remained at 2025 levels. These price adjustments occur within a broader context of energy market volatility in the region.
Retail Fuel Price Landscape
Among filling station networks, the highest diesel prices are offered by:
- Okko
- WOG
- Socar
Conversely, the most affordable fuel can be found at the following networks:
- Ukrnafta
- BRSM-Nafta
Additionally, at one network, the price of autogas increased by less than 1 UAH per liter. Other factors contributing to the price rise include:
- Increased demand volumes
- Reduced supply and inventory levels
- Higher costs for logistics services
The situation on Ukraine's fuel market reflects the impact of both external and internal factors on pricing, which is significant for consumers managing their expenses. Participation in the 'National Cashback' program could be a key consideration for those seeking to reduce fuel costs. Given the price hikes and limited domestic production, the dynamics of the fuel market require careful monitoring, as further changes could substantially affect the country's economic situation.
