Cucumber prices are revised daily: sellers named the key reason

According to hvylya.net: The prices of greenhouse cucumbers in Ukraine are rising rapidly, as is impossible at the most critical moment. Now, one has to pay from 25 to 45 hryvnias per kilogram, which is 19% more than a week ago. And all this is according to EastFruit, which indicates such an impressive price increase.

Experts believe that such a sharp increase in cucumber prices occurred due to the limited supply of goods on the market. Many farms have already completed the first harvest of greenhouse cucumbers and do not plan to actively return to the harvesting process until mid-August, which, in turn, leads to a sharp increase in prices on the market.

Market participants emphasize that demand remains high. Companies selling cucumbers raise prices daily, as they have high sales rates and face limited competition. In addition, the shortage of cucumbers from open fields also affects the pricing situation.

Although cucumber prices remain lower than last year on average by 24%, EastFruit experts note that with favorable weather, the market can quickly be saturated with a new harvest, leading to further price reductions.

Ukrainian consumers advise not to panic about the rise in prices for greenhouse cucumbers, as it is possible that prices will decrease again over time.
