Border guards uncovered a scheme of illegal crossing to Romania: a father and son were transporting people in trucks
On the outskirts of Izmail, border guards discovered a dangerous scheme for smuggling people across the border. A father and son used ingenious hiding places in their trucks to illegally transport three men to Romania. According to the border guards, these hiding spots were traps for people. The men hid in the cabins of the trucks while in motion, but as they approached checkpoints, they moved into cramped, unventilated spaces, risking their health and lives. During the inspection of two MAN trucks heading towards the border, the border guards managed to discover that three men from Zaporizhzhia, Khmelnytskyi, and Donetsk regions were hiding in the shafts of the telescopic hydraulic cylinders. For such a dangerous 'journey', each of them planned to pay the organizers $8,000. Criminal proceedings have been opened against the suspects, and administrative protocols have been drawn up against those who attempted to illegally cross the border.
