The holiday of military intelligence in Ukraine has existed since 1992. After gaining independence, the military leadership decided to create its own military intelligence system. Even then, a strategic-level intelligence agency was formed, which helped in important operations.

In 1994, the intelligence agency received the status of a special state authority. And only in 2022 was the official holiday established - the Day of Military Intelligence, which is celebrated annually on September 7.
