Sector Performance Review for 2025

According to Мін. Економіки: The State Forest Resources Agency of Ukraine has concluded its annual review, outlining plans to boost timber harvesting and setting key priorities for 2026. The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture of Ukraine, Taras Vysotskyi. Ukraine's forestry sector is a significant component of its natural resource economy and a key area for post-war recovery.

In 2025, the volume of timber harvested reached 11.7 million m³, with 11.4 million m³ sold. The monetary value of these sales approached 30 billion UAH, while the sector's net financial result was 6.9 billion UAH. Revenue contributions to budgets at all levels totaled 16.1 billion UAH, nearly double the figure from 2024.

Development Strategy Discussions

During the meeting, participants discussed deregulation measures to increase timber harvesting and issues related to forest restoration. The initial results from the Exporter's Electronic Cabinet system were also reviewed. The board identified immediate steps for deregulation, digitalization, and the sustainable development of forestry, all slated for implementation in 2026.

The 2025 results demonstrate substantial progress in both financial performance and harvest volumes. The growth in budget revenues indicates effective timber sales and potential for further sectoral development. The steps defined for 2026, focused on deregulation and digitalization, are expected to positively influence the sustainable development of forestry in Ukraine.
