Pierre Mungenge Joins Dynamo Kyiv

According to Главком: Dynamo Kyiv has secured a three-year contract with 18-year-old French forward Pierre Mungenge, set to take effect on July 1. Born on January 3, 2008, in Évry-Courcouronnes, Mungenge began his football journey at the FC Évry academy. He later moved to Villejuif before joining the Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) setup in 2021.

During the 2025/26 season, Mungenge emerged as PSG U19's top scorer in both the UEFA Youth League and the French Youth Cup. With PSG, he also earned gold medals in the French youth championship. Over the previous season, he played 33 matches for PSG U19, scoring 21 goals and providing 12 assists. He made his debut for the PSG first team in a Ligue 1 match against Lorient during the 32nd round. Mungenge has now begun receiving call-ups to the France U19 national team.

Yarmolenko Absent from European Competitions

Additionally, it has been revealed that Andriy Yarmolenko will not participate in European competitions. As journalist Ihor Burbas noted,

“Don’t expect Yarmolenko at the training camp. To be frank, he’s done-at least with European competitions and his international career. According to my information, he has his own individual program and is preparing for something other than European games.”

Notably, in the first qualifying round of the Europa League, Dynamo will face Romania’s Universitatea Cluj. The matches in this round are scheduled for July 9 and 16.

The signing of Pierre Mungenge highlights Dynamo’s strategic focus on building a youthful squad and investing in promising talent. With growing competition on the European stage, having skilled young players is crucial for the team. Meanwhile, Yarmolenko’s absence from European fixtures may impact the team’s ambitions, as he was one of the more experienced figures. The upcoming clashes with Universitatea Cluj will test a revamped Dynamo side aiming for success on the international front.

As Dynamo Kyiv strengthens its roster with young talents like Pierre Mungenge, the club is also keeping an eye on potential additions from top leagues. Recent reports suggest that players from Bournemouth and Leipzig are being considered by PSG, which could further intensify competition in European football.
