Diesel prices are skyrocketing again: expert named the reasons and forecast
Ukraine is facing serious problems with diesel fuel supply, which may lead to a sharp increase in prices, according to Serhiy Kuyn, director of the A-95 Consulting Group. September signals became a reality in October when the country imported 15% less diesel than a year ago. Against the backdrop of global issues such as problems at refineries in Lithuania, sabotage at the Hungarian refinery, and complications in supply due to weather conditions, the situation is becoming even more difficult.
Anti-Russian sanctions and US sanctions on 'Lukoil' and 'Rosneft' are also affecting the diesel market in Ukraine. Prices are already rising, but the main concern is securing fuel supply. Experts recommend considering maximum liberalization of the market and increasing supply efficiency. To avoid a crisis, they suggest simplifying border crossing for fuel tankers and paying attention to railways to expedite deliveries.
According to expert Serhiy Kuyn, it was important to prepare for the crisis in advance. It is better to be cautious than to rescue later.
