For prospective students of 2017: Who will receive budget places and how the admission campaign will proceed

The Ministry of Education has announced news for Ukrainian applicants. In particular, this year, entrants will be able to submit a total of nine applications for four fields, while previously they could submit 15 applications.

Regarding budget places, in 2017 their number will be increased to 10%, but only for those universities that fulfilled the state order last year. Other educational institutions will be guided by last year’s highest indicators. At the same time, universities will independently determine how many points in the certificate are minimally required for admission. Certification points are received by school students as a result of the external examination, which is equivalent to the state exam.

Budget places will be primarily given to Crimeans and beneficiaries. The Ministry of Education has established five types of quotas in 2017 - for orphan applicants (10%), people with disabilities, children of ATO participants, as well as for internally displaced persons from Crimea and eastern regions (20%).

For the remaining applicants, the average score of the certificate will be taken into account, an entrance exam may be held (for certain specialties), as well as attention will be paid to the scores obtained from preparatory courses at universities (for not very popular specialties - ecology, landscaping, etc.).

For the first year of the bachelor's program this year, applications can only be submitted electronically. Registration of personal accounts for applicants will start on June 29 and end on July 25 (ez.osvitavsim.org.ua), and applications can be registered from July 12 to July 26.

Applicants can submit applications after interviews or exams until July 20. Exams and competitions at universities will be held over six days from July 21 to July 26. The ranking lists of students for enrollment will be announced on August 1.
