Recently, the Head of the State Emergency Service, Andriy Danyk, met with a delegation from the Danish Agency for Public Safety (SAMSIK), led by the agency's Director General Laila Renberg. During the meeting, issues of civil protection and enhancing the resilience of government administration were discussed. Emphasis was placed on improving societal readiness for emergencies and the development of warning systems.

Andriy Danyk expressed gratitude to Laila Renberg for the long-standing cooperation and support they have had since her previous position as the Director General of the Danish Agency for Emergency Management.

“It is very important to highlight the significant contribution you have already made for us. We are very pleased to continue our cooperation with the Agency for Public Safety. During this period, we have changed our approach to the work of our service, adapting it to the demands of modernity, and we are ready to share our experience,” emphasized the Head of the Service.

For her part, Laila Renberg expressed condolences in connection with the losses that the State Emergency Service and Ukraine as a whole have suffered due to the war.

“As we recover from your situation in Europe, we understand that your grief is also ours. Denmark always supports you and is ready to stand by your side. Even if the war is currently taking place in your country, all of Europe is at risk. Therefore, we must be prepared. We learn a lot from you. If you want to learn something, it's best to go to the masters. That’s what we do. We are amazed at how you have coped with these challenges on the national, service, and personal levels,” stressed Laila Renberg.

Cooperation as a Step Towards Increased Security

This meeting was yet another step towards strengthening the partnership between Ukraine and Denmark in the field of security and the development of the civil protection system.
