Reasons for train delays: impact of hostilities and technical factors

The main reason for deviations from the schedule is the consequences of hostilities that affect the safety of movement and the functioning of infrastructure. In most cases, this is indicated as the key factor for delays.

Additionally, some trains are delayed due to:

  • technical reasons

  • the necessity to transfer passengers from international services

  • changes in the movement schedule

Ukrzaliznytsia emphasizes that the estimated arrival time remains approximate and may change depending on the situation.

Recall that due to the war, the railway infrastructure regularly faces strain, affecting the stability of passenger train operations across the country.

Earlier, we reported that Ukrzaliznytsia announced changes in the movement of suburban trains in several regions of Ukraine, which will last from March 24 to April 3.
