Dollar Exchange Rate Forecast for August

In the upcoming month, Ukrainians can expect a slight increase in the price of the dollar. According to experts' estimates, from August 4 to 10, the dollar will be traded within 41.6–42.2 UAH.

As of the end of July, the average purchase price was 41.45 UAH, and the sale was 42 UAH, which may indicate further growth in the value in the coming days.

Spread Forecast and National Bank's Intervention

Such numbers are expected to be seen in exchange offices, where the dollar value corridor is forecasted at 41.6–42.2 UAH. In the evening of July 31, the purchase of the dollar cost 41.28 UAH, and the sale was 41.80 UAH. Experts anticipate slight fluctuations in the exchange rate at the level of 1–1.5% weekly, while the difference between buying and selling will be around 0.5–0.6 UAH in banks and up to 1 UAH in exchange offices.

'Despite the increase in demand for the dollar, the rate will remain within the projected corridor. The balance between buyers and sellers minimizes the risks of sharp jumps,' emphasized the banker.

This stable movement of the exchange rate is explained by the 'managed flexibility' strategy that the National Bank is indeed applying. This approach allows the regulator the necessary time to intervene in the currency market to maintain equilibrium and prevent sharp fluctuations in the dollar's value.

According to specialists, the next month should not bring significant changes in the dollar exchange rate; likely, the currency's value will remain within the usual ranges for Ukrainians.

Conclusion: In August, a slight increase in the dollar exchange rate in Ukraine is expected; however, stability and controlled fluctuations in value persist, thanks to the active intervention of the National Bank and the 'managed flexibility' strategy. Experts do not predict significant changes, and therefore the hryvnia and dollar will remain in the already familiar corridors for Ukrainians.
