According to hvylya.net: Ukrainians have been informed about which household appliances consume the most electricity, reports the Leravi resource. One of these 'energy monsters' can use as much electricity as more than 60 refrigerators combined. This refers to electric ovens, which can significantly increase electricity bills.

Among household appliances, there are true 'energy monsters,' and one of them can consume as much electricity as more than 60 refrigerators combined.

Electric ovens consume from 2 to 5 kilowatts per hour. With constant use, they can expend from 40 to 90 kWh monthly, which significantly exceeds the energy consumption levels of refrigerators. This is due to the fact that the oven must create and maintain a very high temperature for cooking food. During active operation, the energy consumption of the oven can be comparable to that of several dozen refrigerators.

The annual electricity consumption of an electric oven can reach 224 kWh, which significantly exceeds the metrics of most other household appliances used daily. Long cooking programs at high temperatures are particularly energy-efficient.

Ways to reduce energy consumption of the oven

  • Plan cooking so that the oven is warmed up to prepare the maximum number of dishes at once.
  • Turn off the oven slightly earlier than the cooking process ends, as the residual heat will complete the process.
  • Avoid constantly opening the door to prevent heat loss.
  • After use, completely unplug the appliance from the network if it consumes energy in standby mode.

Other appliances that need to be unplugged

Experts recommend unplugging unused devices from sockets, such as televisions and chargers. This will not only save electricity but also improve fire safety at home.

It was previously reported that the electricity tariff will be reviewed from October 1.

The article notes that electric ovens are considered one of the largest 'energy monsters' among household appliances, and their use can significantly impact electricity bills. Tips for efficient use of the oven and unplugging other devices for energy savings and improved fire safety at home have been provided.
