According to hvylya.net: The European Union has recognized that Russia's actions in Ukraine pose a serious threat to the country's nuclear safety and the operations of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The seizure of the nuclear power plant and military actions near other Ukrainian nuclear power plants violate international standards and could lead to negative consequences.
'The EU and its member states remain deeply concerned about the risks to nuclear safety caused by Russia's unlawful military aggression.'
The EU emphasized that such actions by Russia impede the normal operation of the IAEA and call into question the effectiveness of nuclear safety monitoring in Ukraine. The Director General of the IAEA confirmed existing problems at the Zaporizhzhia NPP and explained that only joint efforts can resolve the situation. Several other countries also expressed their support regarding the issue of nuclear safety in Ukraine, alongside the EU position.
Ukraine faces dangers to its nuclear safety due to Russia's actions, prompting a serious response from the EU and other countries. The seizure of Ukrainian nuclear power plants and military actions near them have the potential to pose threats not only to the region but to the entire world.
