According to glavcom.ua: French skier Flora Dolchi will not be able to participate in the Olympic Games due to a spinal fracture sustained in a paragliding accident. The incident occurred while celebrating her birthday on October 9, and the next day the athlete already underwent surgery.

«There was a risk of neurological consequences. She is fine, she is walking. Given the surgery, we anticipate that she will need six months to fully regain her potential», – said the doctor of the French national team, Thibaut Barb.

Flora Dolchi, who is 26 years old, achieved 27th place in the overall World Cup standings last season, which is the best result among French female skiers.

Russian freestyler asks to be allowed into the 2026 Olympic Games

Anastasia Tatalina, a Russian freestyler, has appealed to the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) to allow her to participate in the 2026 Olympic Games.

«I represent Russia, and I was proud when President of Russia Vladimir Vladimirovich (Putin) sent me a telegram after my victory at the World Championship», – she said in April 2022.

Tatalina is a member of the Russian military club CSKA, which is linked to Russia's involvement in the conflict against Ukraine.

Tatalina also liked a post with the Russian military slogan «we do not abandon our own».
