People's deputies from the 'Servant of the People' party may abstain from voting for the restoration of the independence of anti-corruption bodies in Ukraine due to fear of retribution from prosecutors. This could complicate President Zelensky's plans to repeal the law that subjects anti-corruption bodies to the general prosecutor appointed by him. The head of SAP, Alexander Klimenko, made threatening statements, which caused fear among the deputies. Some of them are even considering the possibility of refusing their mandates to avoid voting. The situation remains tense, as even current deputies could become the subject of investigations by law enforcement agencies.
