Ukrainian General Staff Reports Intense Combat for April 6: 121 Clashes, 51 Airstrikes

Frontline Situation as of April 6

According to Главком: The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has provided an update on the frontline situation for April 6. Russian forces escalated their offensive actions over the past day, launching numerous airstrikes, bombardments, and assaults, with the Pokrovsk sector seeing the highest concentration of attacks.

According to the report, Russian forces carried out 51 airstrikes, deploying 162 guided aerial bombs. They also used 5,950 'kamikaze' drones, highlighting a significant increase in the use of unmanned technology in combat. In total, Russian troops conducted 2,407 attacks on Ukrainian settlements and military positions. The intensity of the fighting is underscored by 121 separate combat engagements recorded across the front on April 6.

Attacks Across Multiple Fronts

Russian attacks were reported across various sectors of the front. In the South-Slobozhan sector, the following was recorded:

• 5 airstrikes (using 13 guided bombs)
• 72 artillery strikes, including 6 from multiple launch rocket systems
• 3 combat engagements

These attacks targeted areas near Staritsa and in the direction of Kolodyazne.

On the Kupiansk front, Russian forces made 4 attempts to advance near Pishchane and towards Novoosynove. The Lyman sector also saw action, with 4 assault operations reported in the directions of Lyman, Stavky, and Novosergiivka, one of which is ongoing. On the Sloviansk front, 5 attempts to push forward were recorded near Rai-Oleksandrivka, Yampil, and Riznykivka.

The Kramatorsk sector witnessed 3 attacks in the areas of Pryvillia and Markove, and towards Minkivka. Russian forces were most active on the Kurakhove (Pokrovsk) front, launching 25 assaults near Bilytske, Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novomykolaivka, and Hryshyne, with two of these assaults still continuing.

On the Kostiantynivka front, 17 assaults occurred near Stepanyvka, Kleban-Byk, Pleshiivka, Rusyn Yar, and towards Illinivka, Sofiyivka, and Kostiantynivka, with one attack ongoing. The Orikhiv sector saw 7 attacks near Olenokostiantynivka and towards Sviatopetrivka, Zaliznychne, and Pryluky. A single attempt to advance was recorded near Shcherbaky on the Orikhiv front.

On the Vremivka (Oleksandrivka) front, 11 attacks were reported near Ivanivka, Myrne, Kalynivske, Pryvillia, Verbove, Zlahoda, Oleksandragrad, and towards Lisne. Finally, on the Dnipro River front, 4 assault actions took place near the Antonivskyi Bridge and Bilohrudyi Island.

Today marks the 1,503rd day of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine. The widespread use of drones and guided munitions by Russian forces represents a persistent tactical challenge for Ukrainian defenders, requiring constant adaptation on the battlefield.
