Charges Filed Against the Didenkos

According to Главком: Grigory Didenko, head of the Odesa Regional Council, and his wife, Member of Parliament Yulia Dulia Didenko, are suspected of submitting false asset declarations for property worth over 8 million Ukrainian hryvnias. According to the investigation, this undeclared property was omitted from their mandatory annual filings for the years 2021 through 2023. A prosecutor from Ukraine's Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) has filed a lawsuit seeking the confiscation of nearly 5 million hryvnias in assets for the state, as their legal origin cannot be verified.

Payments and the Criminal Case

Between 2021 and 2024, the couple made payments totaling 5 million hryvnias for apartments and two Audi SQ8 vehicles, purchased in 2021 and 2024. In October 2025, Grigory and Yulia Didenko were formally notified of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 366-2 of Ukraine's Criminal Code. The pre-trial investigation in this case concluded in December 2025.

This case is part of a wider anti-corruption drive in Ukraine, which saw seven other MPs face various criminal suspicions in 2025 alone. Among them were fellow Servant of the People party members Iryna Kormyshkina and Yulia Didenko, as well as MP Oleksiy Kuznetsov, who was suspected of possible bribery.

This case underscores the critical importance of adhering to anti-corruption legislation in Ukraine, particularly among high-ranking officials.

Investigations of this nature are key to ensuring transparency in the use of state resources and rebuilding public trust in government institutions. The outcome of such high-profile cases is closely watched as a measure of Ukraine's commitment to judicial reform and European integration standards.
